Oliver Luck attended West Virginia University, where
he earned a B.A. degree and graduated with the highest honors. At
West Virginia University, he became a record setting quarterback,
which led him to being selected in the second round of the 1982
NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. Luck went on to play five seasons
for the club before he went to work as a top-ranking executive with
the National Football League, where he served for more than ten
years. Luck was sworn in as the CEO of the Harris County Houston
Sports Authority (HCHSA) in 2001. On December 15, 2005, Luck was
named the first President and General Manager of the Houston MLS
franchise, known as the Houston Dynamo.
